Don't get your panties in a wad...it isn't what you think. Granted, there a tinge of jealousy between us two, I know I have the upper hand..after all, he sleeps next to me every night ;) But now that you know how I feel about it...meet Derick's "new fling"

He's had this finished for a couple months now, but I just got the chance to snap some pictures of it while we were up at the cabin this weekend. I really didn't think he would drive it much...but we take this thing everywhere. I'm glad he has one more thing crossed off his list-although now I know he's going to be working on me to sell my truck and buy a GT500...but that won't be happening anytime soon. I mean...where would I put my saddle in a Mustang?! A girl's gotta have a place for her saddle ;)

Ayden's Pirate Birthday!

I can't believe how big he's getting!! We had a ton of fun with his pirate birthday/water party...and of course we just had to get into a water fight! My sister did such a good job putting everything together, and the decorations were so stinkin cute. She had a little issue getting the cake done, but it turned out super cute. See her post here.

When I was young, my family will attest to the fact that I was always an outside girl. Playing in the yard, or begging Dad to take me with him to the farm so I could ride the horse...but unfortunately, I was also a horrible procrastinator. Some days, I'd have chores I'd been assigned-ie: clean your room, clean your bathroom, dust your...everything, but since I was a procrastinator, I'd find ANYTHING to do...EXCEPT what I'd been asked. This little chip I had on my shoulder caused me to be inside ALL DAY LONG!

Don't ask me why I didn't just get my ass up and do my chores so I could go outside, as I'm not sure WHY I did this. All I know is that I'd sit in my room on my bed, and look out my window...longing to be out in the elements.

Now, 18 years later, I've grown out of the procrastination issue (for the most part?!)...but my longing to be outside has always retained a special place in my heart. But...since we moved into our house a year ago, this place hasn't entirely felt like home...until now!

So, what does my procrastination versus my love for the outdoors have to do with the price of rice in China you may ask?? WELL, MY YARD IS DONE .....AND IT ONLY TOOK 2 WEEKS THANKS TO THE WONDERFUY GUYS AT FirstGreenLawns!!

I can not even tell you how much I'm enjoying my yards now! I can now call my home...HOME!

I can't tell you how excited I am about getting a yard this Spring!! I'm so sick of having to see my neighbor's (behind us) trashy yards...not that ours is any better right now, haha. I also can't wait to have a fence up so they're not always staring at what we're doing, and so their kids won't pester my poor pooch when he's out on his line. We just got our design idea back from our landscape people, and I LOVE IT!! We won't have a ton of grass, which is nice (less grass for Coop to dig up!).

We haven't given them the "go ahead" yet...but I'm sure we will soon. Whaddya think??

Vegas

So we went to Vegas for Derick's birthday...and can you believe I didn't take not ONE picture?! haha, yeah...I know, I'm retarded! Most of the places we went to though wouldn't allow them...so I just always left it in my room! We did a TON of stuff, including the Cirque du Soleil & Criss Angel show, Believe. I absolutely loved it!! Needless to say, no pictures were allowed there either! haha...oh well, atleast we'll always have our memories :)

So, just a few minutes ago, I was sitting her at my computer and all of sudden the surround sound in the game room started getting loud, LoUdEr, then EXTREMELY LOUD! D is in there playing Call of Duty 4 online with his friends, so I ran in there. He said that he was just playing and all of a sudden the sound increased really loudly, really quickly! The remote for that was sitting ontop of the box on the otherside of the room!! He got up and tried to turn it down the dial, and nothing happened, so he just turned off the power!! Yeah, she's ticked today!!

So...as some of you might now, apparently we have a visitor in our home. I had a feeling that there something else was here when Cooper would wake up at 3am, and bark under his breath at our bathroom in our master bedroom. When I told D about this he thought I was crazy. Well...I had an appointment with a pet psychic (yes, I know it sounds crazy, but it was actually VERY VERY interesting!!), and she told me that we DO have a spirit in our home! She said she is a tall grey headed woman that is very sad. She apparently had a lot of loss in her life, and is just stuck between worlds.

Well...apparently she's very upset today. I was sitting here at my computer on the kitchen counter, and all of a sudden, I heard something shatter! D was sitting on the couch and asked what happened. I walked around by the sink, but there was nothing on the floor?! I was so confused! I looked in the dishwasher, under the sink, in the fridge, and in the cabinet where my wine glasses are...and found nothing! I finally looked where I put my bowls and pans and there it was! My Pyrex liquid measuring cup (which I loved because you could measure 4 cups of liquid at a time!!) was shattered! There is no way anything fell on it...so I don't know how this happened? It was sitting inside another glass bowl, and that one didn't break? The glass was shattered all over that shelf. Inside the other bowls & everything! It was a pain to clean up...but I finally got it done. Apparently she was mad that she was all alone on Valentine's Day! haha

I don't know what's been going on lately, but it seems like everyone is exhausted all the time...INCLUDING ME! For the last week or so, I've been having to get 4 shots of espresso in my "Marilyn Monroe" in the morning, instead of my usual 2. I'm sure it's not too healthy for me, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do! As I type this morning, I feel like my fingers are stuck to the keys...I hope I get feeling perky again soon! Maybe once it starts to warm up, it'll get better.

I'm so sad to have to say it...but Christmas is over. I admit it...I'm guilty of still having my Christmas Tree & Garland up in my house...but the lights are off. I had to take some pictures of the outside lights though. Till next year I suppose...

Derick's been wanting me to get the game room cleaned out so he can have his "man cave"! So we finally got it pretty cleaned out the other day, so he went out to SLC today and came home with this!

It's a lot bigger than the one he's putting in the game room (the one that we USE to have in the living room), so we had to try it out tonight on "Superstars of Dance"!...PS, probably one of the coolest shows I've seen for a while!

I thought my Christmas was GREAT because I got the camera I wanted...I was floored when we went up to Derick's parents house on Christmas Eve and received yet another gift!! I started crying because I hadn't expected anything like this...

This is my new saddle :) !!!! I'm so excited to go use it!! I've never had my own saddle, so this is a first for sure, and my momma-in-law had never had her own either, so......

She got one too! I wanted a light saddle (cause I'm a wuss and can't throw a saddle very high)...so mine is a barrel saddle, and hers is a pleasure saddle. They'll look so good on our babies!

Peanut Butter Carmel Corn

I got this recipe from a lady I work with. I made some today, and it may be a new favorite treat!! You gotta try it...it's yummy and it doesn't take that long!

Ingredients:
15 cups air-popped popcorn
1 cup sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter (you can use creamy, or chunky...I like the chunky personally)

pop your popcorn and set aside in a large bowl. In a sauce pan combine sugar, corn syrup and peanut butter. Allow it to get hot enough to slightly boil, but be careful not to scorch it. Let it lightly boil until it almost has the consistency of caramel and remove from heat. Pour it over your popcorn, and mix well through the entire bowl. Serve while still slightly warm...or you can also put it in the microwave for a few seconds to warm it again so it's soft. I haven't tried to make these into popcorn balls yet, but I think I might try it with my next batch :) ENJOY!

I got tagged by Amy...so here's six random facts about me:

1. It drives me crazy to not finish things...so I end up staying late, or spending far too much time trying to finish my project at the time.

2. Christmas & Halloween are my two favorite holidays (I've had my house decorated for Halloween since the first of September)...with the 4th of July coming in at third place.

3. I have issues with jumping around on hobbies. I get into something and go gung-ho, then I get burned out...so I have a ton of different hobbies...yet if you were to ask me what my hobbies are, I would have no idea what to tell you. I feel like I don't really have any?! Odd...I know.

4. I have turned into a freak about having my house clean. It use to annoy me so bad when my mom would have to have the house clean from top to bottom...and now I'm the same way!

5. I love to be a hermit at home. People give me crap because I never go out anywhere...what can I say?! I like being at home!

6. I hated to read books until I got into college. I don't think I ever finished a book before I was in college. I started reading because I was broke and didn't have the money to go do anything...so I'd escape into a make-believe world in writing. Now I absolutely love it!!!

Bath Time

Since he went and got himself all DiRtY...he had to have a bath! He actually does great in the tub. You tell him it's time for a bath and he'll go move the shower curtain with his nose and jump right in. He doesn't LOVE bath time by any means, but he's so tolerable of me getting him all clean and shiny again...

And of course after a long day like today...it's nap time with his hedgehog!

The Wedding

May 31, 2008: Getting ready was so fun...Amy, Kassy & I all got ready together in the brides room at Kokopelli Park. Ayden was so handsome in his tux. He was running around in his diaper until about 10 minutes before the wedding. I figured he'd be a lot less happy with wearing it than he actually was. He did an amazing job.
